As we all know, the recruitment process involves multiple stages, requiring efficient management and processing of large volumes of data. It is essential to analyse and organize this information effectively to identify the best-fit candidate for the open position.
Odoo’s Recruitment App facilitates efficient data collection and management, ensuring accurate and streamlined hiring processes. Designed to simplify recruitment, it enhances the experience for both HR teams and job applicants, making the process seamless and effortless.
Here, we will explore an example of a company seeking an IT professional to support its team. The process will involve creating a job opening, managing applications, filtering the most suitable candidates, and ultimately hiring the best fit for the role.
Creating a New Job Opening
To create a new job opening in Odoo, navigate to the Recruitment app and select New. You will be prompted to enter the Job Position and any associated email alias. Once created, the job opening will appear in the Kanban view, displaying the default stages of the recruitment process.

To configure the job post, go to Dashboard > select the three dots in the top right corner > Configuration. Here, you can add essential details such as Department, Job Location, Industry, Employment Type, Expected Skills, Number of Hirings, Interviewers, and any associated Interview Form.
Application Management
Once a job opening is live, Odoo offers multiple ways to receive applications:
1. Email Alias: Applications sent to the designated email alias are automatically digitised, and resumes are added to the New Application stage in the recruitment process.
2. Website: Job seekers can apply directly via the company’s website.
3. Social Media Platforms: The job opening can be shared on platforms like LinkedIn to reach a wider audience.
4. Manual Entry: For resumes received in physical form or via personal email, applications can be manually created. Navigate to the three-dot menu, select New under Applications, and enter the required details. Alternatively, a new application can be added directly within the Recruitment process.
Skill Matching
With a high volume of applications, identifying the best fit can be challenging. Odoo offers a Skill Matching filter to analyse all received applications and shortlist candidates based on required competencies.
Interview Process
The recruitment process includes three structured stages:
· Initial Qualification
· First Interview
· Second Interview
To streamline communication and keep candidates informed, Odoo allows automated email replies for candidates progressing to the next stage. Additionally, survey questionnaires can be assigned to further refine the selection process.
Contract Proposal
Once the ideal candidate is selected, a contract proposal can be sent directly via email. Odoo’s Sign App enables digital signing of contracts, ensuring a seamless and paperless process. After the candidate signs the contract, it awaits final approval from the HR Manager. Once approved, the system automatically updates the candidate’s status to Hired.
Odoo simplifies the recruitment process, enabling HR teams to efficiently manage hiring and select the best candidate with the required skill set.
